Madame’ Clucks Alot is a regenerative agroecological farm founded and
officially registered in
2021 by Ntobeko Mafu, after operating informally for some time. Located
in Nhlazatshe, Edendale
(Pietermaritzburg), the farm specializes in climate-smart agriculture,
combining free-range broiler production, organic crop farming, and
agricultural training and development.

Initially focused solely on broiler chickens, the business experienced a
major setback in February 2023, losing 650 birds due to load-shedding.
Instead of closing down, Madame’ Clucks Alot pivoted—diversifying into
organic crop farming and launching training programs. This marked the
shift from being just a poultry business to becoming a fully-fledged
climate-smart agricultural hub.
